Over the years
Finlay Park Development
Since then, it has undergone continual changes and upgrades to be the multipurpose campus it is today. With an amazing team, our aim is for all who come to have experience that is life changing, every time!
Since the first building was built at Finlay Park back in 1953 there have been some significant changes to the facilities. There have been some notable additions like:
- 1953 The main block was extended with the old gym.
- 1983 The chapel was built
- 2000 The stable were demolished and replace with the lake cabins
- 2005 The spa was built
- 2007 The big gym was built
- 2014 The village was opened complete with the 3rd pool on site
- 2021 Two additional fale were assed int the village
But one thing has remained the same – using the buildings and facilities to share Finlay Park’s vision and values with everyone that comes down the hill to Finlay Park.

Finlay Park was the absolute best adventure as a child. And then as a leader, and a senior leader. The children’s camps became an integral part of my school holidays. The experiences, the love, the laughs. Rodney and Betty took us under their wing.
They were absolutely the best times. It doesn’t matter where we have ended up in life, we all have a special connection to each other, and the magical Finlay Park.

I wouldn’t even know where to begin, probably get more out of me on the day over video but I lived my best years every holidays at Finlay Park. Made some beautiful lifelong friendships. Had the experience of doing things I wouldn’t have been able to do at home as both my parents worked.

I was a camper when I was 11-14 years old and then I was a leader until a couple of years after high school. I also spent a lot of time with the Fraser family at Finlay Park, going on adventures, spending time on the lake, walking around the campgrounds. I got baptised in the lake when I was 14 and got engaged in the chapel. A very special place for my family and me.

Was a camper a few times at junior camps then asked to be a leader in my teen years. The social connections I made helped build my personal confidence and made friendships and memories I’ll never forget.
